Of 1860 1868 June and, September March of 1869 : The naturalistic, Italian wise person, ANTONIO RAIMONDI DEll´AQUA , visit and study the natural wealth of the future province of Yungay and, among other notes, he writes:  Of Caraz I happened to Yungay, beautiful only two population that dista leguas and average of Caraz, founded on lomada of land of transport with great erratic masses. The city of Yungay enjoys the most delicious climate: Located between Huaraz and Caraz, it does not have you cold nights of first, and during the day it does not experience the strong heat that in second. 15 of July of 1906 and September 1908 : Of the North American, Montañista and Masters, the writer University Michigan(1881), Miss ANNIE Smith PECK arrive at Yungay, remain in the Province during several weeks and write: .. Yungay, is a city of near 10.000 inhabitants, is located in the valley of Huaylas to 8.100 feet of height, in the middle of the most esplendido panorama of this one hemisphere. To the West of the narrow valley yergue the black mountain Mountain range with heights of 15.000 feet; to the East, the white Mountain range, where the incomparable Huascarán is raised, to the enormous height of 22.400 pies... Esta region so favored... has a esplendido panorama, comparing it with the one of Chamonix (White Mounts in Francia) and when arriving at Abra de Llanganuco it writes:  the landscape is for my mind, of a indescriptible grandiosidad, comparing it with the Yosemite (National Park of the USA). In some places there is only the wide one of the pack animal road between the riscos perpendiculars to the left and the insondable lake of the same name to the right, beyond of which, invisible in the photo, the majestic rocky walls of the North tip of the Huascarán are raised ...
