. In this period, the incan influence in the
technical, social and cultural aspects was intense in all
of the Huaylas Valley. The Inca Huayna Cápac sealed to the
union of the Huaylas region with the Inca Empire when
marrying to the daughter of the Cacique of Huaylas called,
Contarhuacho , who had a daughter , the same
that being sister of the Atahualpa Inca, at the end of
November of 1532 became
the wife of Don Francisco Pizarro
. Previous to the marriage, the princess was baptized with
the name of Ines Huaylas Yupanqui. In that time Incas already

land already had the name of
YUNGAY,
the one that
YUNGA
comes from the voice quechua
with meaning "warm Valley", but the letter
Y
that added to an adjective means "on". It is to say to the
old inhabitants pre-Incas realized of which this land
was not exactly a zone yunga because the climate was
tempered, own of zones limit superior to the Yunga region,
is for that reason they baptized it like
YUNGAY
that means
"Valley upon the warm place" or "tempered climate Valley"
.
